Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My body was wearing thin, and I was low and sad. The Guru, my Friend, gave me courage and comfort.

Now I sleep in peace and ease, as if I had won the whole world.

The right encouragement, at the right moment, can lift you back to your feet.
The deeper layer

Feeling low and worn thin is named honestly, and then comfort comes: the Guru as Friend gives courage (dharaa-i-aa). To win the whole world here is inner, not military: the deep peace of someone lifted back to their feet.

If you feel low for a long time, telling a grown-up you trust is always a good step.

A Question to Sit With

Whose words have lifted you when you were feeling low?
