Walking on the Path, I have found cool tranquility deep within; gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan, I am enraptured. ||1||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Hearing of You, my body and mind bloom like a flower; repeating the Naam, my face glows with life.
Walking on the path, I am cool and calm deep inside; seeing the Guru, I am filled with delight.
The heart opens like a flower when it turns toward what it loves.
Hearing of the One makes the body and mind bloom (ma-ulaa); the Naam brings a glow of life (laalee); walking the path cools the heart deep inside (andar thandhaa); seeing the Guru (darsan) brings delight. Repeating the Naam and listening are pictured as sources of aliveness.
