Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I have found the jewel inside my own heart.

I did not pay for it; the True Guru gave it to me.

My searching is over, and I have become steady.

Nanak says: I have won this precious human life.

The treasure you are searching for might already be inside you.
The deeper layer

The jewel (maanak) is found inside the heart, like the musk-deer that carries the scent it searches for outside. It cost nothing: a gift, freely given by the Guru. The searching ends, the heart grows steady (thitaa), and the precious human life is won.

A Question to Sit With

What good thing might already be inside you, waiting to be noticed?
