Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One is a great big family, and the One is also all alone.

The One alone knows the One's own worth.

The One made everything, all by Himself.

Only the One can describe what the One has made.

Blessed is the place where You live.

Blessed are Your devotees, who see You, True One.

Only the one You bless with kindness can praise You.

Nanak says: whoever meets the Guru is spotless and pure.

The One is complete on its own, and yet holds all of us like family.
The deeper layer

Aapay, "the One Himself", holds a puzzle: the One is the greatest family and also alone, complete and yet related to all. The One alone knows the One's worth and can describe the One's creation. Blessed is the One's place, blessed are those who see, and praise itself is a gift of kindness (da-i-aa).

A Question to Sit With

How can someone be totally complete alone and still want you close?
