In plain words

Blessed are the beautiful raags — when they are sung, every thirst goes away.

Blessed are the lovely people who turn toward the Guru and repeat the Naam.

Again and again I give myself to those who love the One with a single mind.

I long for the dust of their feet; it comes only by the One's grace.

I give myself to those who are dyed in love for the Lord of the world.

I tell them how my heart is, and pray: bring me to my Friend, the King.

The perfect Guru has brought us together, and the pain of birth and death is gone.

Nanak says: I, Your servant, have found the beautiful One beyond reach, and I will not go anywhere else.

The right song, sung with love, can quiet a restless heart.
The deeper layer

Praise for raag and kirtan: the beautiful sung modes that quench thirst. The singers are honored, their company longed for, and the dust of their feet (dhoorh) asked for — an image of nearness and humility, not of being made small. Finding the inaccessible One, the heart stops wandering. Grace supplies even the dust of the feet.

A Question to Sit With

Is there a song that calms you down when you are restless?
