You are my Sumayr Mountain, O my Lord and Master; I have grasped Your Support.

You do not shake, and I do not fall. You have preserved my honor. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You are my Sumayr mountain, my Master. I hold on to Your support.

You do not shake, and I do not fall. You have kept my honor safe.

When what you hold onto is steady, you cannot be knocked down.
The deeper layer

The One is immovable ground, Sumayr, the great mountain. Because that support does not move, nothing can knock you down. This steadiness sets up the whole shabad: place and superstition cannot shake a heart anchored here.

A Question to Sit With

What steady thing do you hold onto when everything else feels shaky?
