Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O friend, turn to the Guru and worship the One with love, always.

Your heart will light up. Through the Guru's teaching, your attention rests lovingly on the One, and you merge in the Naam.

Love the One with your whole heart, and your heart lights up from inside.
The deeper layer

Love the One always, and your heart lights up from within. Hirdai pargaas means the heart is illumined, lit from within; liv laagai is a loving, settled attention. Gurmat is the teaching, and bhagat is devotion — love turned into a way of living, not just a feeling.

A Question to Sit With

What lights you up inside when you turn your attention to it?
