In plain words

They sing the song of the One Creator; they sing the tune of the One alone.

They live in the land of the One, show the way to the One, and stay tuned to the One.

They keep their mind on the One and serve the One alone — the One they come to know through the Guru.

A life pointed at one true thing becomes clear and whole.
The deeper layer

A whole life can be tuned to the One.

The word that keeps ringing is ayk, which means One. One song, one tune, one land, one direction, one attention, one kind of service. O-ankaar ayk dhun means "the one tune of the One Creator." Everything points to Ik Onkar, the One who is in everything.

Think of a choir. Many voices sing, but they all follow one melody. That is what makes it beautiful instead of noisy. This person's thoughts, words and work all follow one melody too.

Ayko gur tay jaapai means "this One is known through the Guru." The Guru helps us find that melody and stay with it.

A Question to Sit With

What's the "one tune" you'd want your life to keep coming back to?
