Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The body is a patchwork, stitched together with thread.

The muscles are sewn with needles made of bones.

The One has set it up on a pillar of water.

So, yogi, why are you so proud?

A body this delicate is no reason for pride.
The deeper layer

Your body is a delicate patchwork, so there is nothing in it to be proud about.

The body is pictured as a patchwork — thiglee, patches of thread; naarhee, muscles; astee, bones — propped on ambhai kaa dandaa, a pillar of water. Ki-aa too jogee garbeh pari-aa asks the yogi why he is proud. A body this delicate is a wonder to be grateful for, never a reason to show off.

A Question to Sit With

What's something amazing about your body you usually take for granted?
