Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:
ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥
kot jaap taap bisraam.
Millions of meditations and austerities rest in him,
ਰਿਧਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਸੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ॥
riDh buDh siDh sur gi-aan.
along with wealth, wisdom, miraculous spiritual powers and angelic spiritual insight.
ਅਨਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਭੋਗ ਰਸੈ ॥
anik roop rang bhog rasai.
He enjoys the various shows and forms, pleasures and delicacies;
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ॥੧॥
gurmukh naam nimakh ridai vasai. ||1||
the Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells within the heart of the Gurmukh. ||1||

Millions of prayers and hard practices rest in that one,
along with wealth, wisdom, wondrous powers and the insight of the angels.
That one enjoys many forms and colors, pleasures and tastes,
when, through the Guru, the Naam lives in the heart even for an instant.
One thing well-held can contain everything else you were chasing.
Kot jaap tap... ridh budh sidh — all the powers people chase separately (meditations, wealth, wisdom, miraculous sidhis) are said to be contained in one thing: the Naam held in the heart, even nimakh, for an instant.
