Be kind to me, merciful Supreme One.
May I always keep You, Lord of the world, in my mind.
Let me be the dust under the feet of Your servants.
Nanak says: God, please fulfill this hope of mine.
The deepest wish is simply to keep the One close and never let go.
Man tay kabahu na bisar — may You never leave my mind: a wish to keep the One close always. Daas kee hovaa dhoor, to be the dust of Your servants' feet, is glad humility, wanting to serve those who love the One. Sardhaa poor: fill this hope.
