Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Shiva does not know the One's secret.
The gods have grown tired of searching for it.
The goddesses do not know its mystery.
Above them all is the unseen Supreme One.
Even the greatest searchers are still searching — the One is that vast.
Sankraa (Shiva), dayv (gods), dayvee-aa (goddesses) — all named with respect and all shown as seekers, not rivals. Khojat haaray dayv: the gods wore themselves out searching. This is about scale, not scorn: the alakh (unseeable) Supreme is beyond even the highest beings the traditions honor.
