Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One's shelter is the boat that carries us across.

The One's feet are life itself.

They hold up the very breath of the saints.

The One is without limit, higher than the highest.

The safest shelter is also the thing that carries you forward.
The deeper layer

Taaran taran har saran — the sanctuary is the ferry. Jeevan roop har charan: the One’s feet (presence) are the form of life. Santan kay paraan adhaar: the support of the saints’ breath — the One is not an accessory to their life but its very ground.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that both keeps you safe and moves you ahead?
