In plain words

When you serve holy people with a true heart,

your own mind grows clear and clean.

I have seen the One's humble servant, and that sight bears fruit.

The One's Name lives inside every single heart.

Serving others with a true heart clears your own, and the One you serve lives in every heart.
The deeper layer

Serving others clears our own heart, and the One lives in everyone.

Sach tahal kamaanee — doing true service. Tahal means service, and sach means true, straight from the heart. The surprise is who gets cleaned: the one who serves. Their own mind becomes pure.

Then Guru Arjan sees a humble, devoted person, and that sight itself is a blessing.

The last line is the big one. Naam parabhoo kaa ghat ghat voothaa — the Name of the One lives in each and every heart. Ghat means heart, and saying it twice means every single one. This is a quiet but huge idea all through Gurbani. The One is not far away in one special place. The One is already inside everyone, waiting to be noticed.

So when you help a classmate, you are also serving the One who lives in them.

A Question to Sit With

If the One lives inside every person, how might that change the way you treat someone?
