Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Dead, dry wood bursts into green leaves and red flowers.

High on the parched desert, a beautiful lotus opens.

The divine True Guru puts out the fire that was burning inside,

and links the servant to the work of serving.

What looked dead and dry can bloom again.
The deeper layer

A life thought finished can come back to bloom: sookay kaasat haray, dry wood turning green. The agan (fire) is the burning of restless craving. The True Guru cools it and then puts the hands to good use (sayv, service).

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever seen something come back to life after it seemed finished?
