I have become fearless, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, my pains have been taken away. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I have come into the shelter of the One, the Great One who holds everything.

Singing the One's praises, I have become unafraid.

In the Sangat, my aches and pains slip away.

Courage grows quietly in the shelter of something larger than yourself.
The deeper layer

I have become fearless: nirbha-o bha-ay. Fearlessness grows naturally in the shelter (sarnaaee) of the One, watered by song and by the Sangat (saadh sang), people gathered together to remember the One.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad.

A Question to Sit With

Where or with whom do you feel safe enough to be brave?
