Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Drink deeply of the sweet nectar, dear holy friends.
Your face will shine, bright and glad, in the One's true court.
Celebrate, be full of joy, and leave behind everything wrong.
Nanak says: hold the One in mind, and cross to the other shore.
The invitation is to joy — drink the sweetness and set the weight down.
Drink the nectar: amrit peevhu. Amrit is the sweetness of the Name. Mukh oojal is the bright, unashamed face of one at ease in the One's presence. The mood is anad, celebration. Joy is the invitation.
