In plain words

Bowing low and living in tune with Your Name, that is true worship.

Bring an offering of truth, and a seat is made ready for you. Pray with honesty and a content heart, and You listen, and call me to come sit close beside You.

True worship is bowing and living in tune with the One.
The deeper layer

True worship is bowing to the One and living by the Name.

TuDhno nivan manan tayraa naa-o — to bow to You and to trust Your Name. Nivan means bowing low, being humble. Manan means more than believing. It means living in tune with the Name, day after day.

The only gift, or bhayt, the One wants is saach, truth. And the prayer that is heard is made with sat santokh: truth and a content heart.

Think of a friend who doesn't care about presents. They just want you to be honest and glad to see them. The reward is close and warm: bahaalay paas, to be called in to sit near the One.

A Question to Sit With

What does it mean to you to live in a way that matches what you believe?
