Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I go looking for the company of those who have tasted the sweet essence of the One.

Wealth, special powers, wisdom, and understanding come from the Guru, and the treasure of freedom is found in the One's shelter.

The people who have tasted deep peace are worth seeking out and staying near.
The deeper layer

Stay close to people who have tasted the sweetness of the One.

Jin ayhu chaakhi-aa raam rasaa-in means those who have tasted the sweet juice of the One. Tin kee sangat khoj means "I seek their company." If you want to learn to bake, you spend time with someone who loves to bake.

RiDh siDh buDh gi-aan means riches, special powers, clear thinking and wisdom. The verse says these come from the Guru.

And mukat padaarath, the treasure of freedom, is found saran, in the One's shelter. It is not found by doing amazing feats alone.

A Question to Sit With

Who do you know that seems to have found a deep, steady peace?
