One Light Merging Into the Light

ਅਦਿਸਟੁ ਸਦਾ ਰਹੈ ਨਿਰਾਲਮੁ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੨੫॥
adisat sadaa rahai niraalam jotee jot milaa-ee. ||25||
The Unseen Lord is forever absolute and immaculate; one's light merges into the Light. ||25||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The unseen One is always pure and untouched, needing nothing to hold it up.

And the little light inside you merges into that great Light, like a drop returning to the sea.

Your inner light merges into the great Light.
The deeper layer

The little light inside us and the great Light of the One flow together.

Adisat sadaa rahai niraalam — the Unseen One always stays niraalam. Niraalam means needing nothing to hold it up, clean and untouched. Nothing can stain it.

Then comes the promise: jotee jot milaa-ee — one's light merges into the Light. Jot means light.

Picture a wave on the sea. It rises and seems like its own thing. When it settles, it remembers it was always ocean. Our light is like that wave. It was never apart from the great Light.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to belong to something much bigger than yourself?
