In plain words

Some spend their days giving advice and making plans.

Some spend them serving because they must.

Some spend them searching out the mysteries of life.

And the saints spend their days drinking in the sweet essence of the One.

The deepest drink for the heart is the One.
The deeper layer

Advice, duty and searching fill many lives. The saints drink deeply of the One.

Kaahoo bihaavai mataa masoorat — some spend life giving advice and making plans. Sayvaa jaroorat — some spend it serving others because they have to. SoDhat jeevat — some spend it searching out the secrets of life.

Each one is a way people live.

Then comes the turn. Sant bihaavai har ras peevat — the saints spend their days drinking the ras of the One. Ras means the sweet juice, the best part.

Think of a hot day after sports. Plans and chores can wait. What you need is a long drink of cool water. Keeping the One close is that kind of deep, filling drink for the heart.

A Question to Sit With

What leaves you feeling deeply filled, not just busy?
