Reach Out Your Hand

karahi ardaas bahut baynantee nimakh nimakh saamaaHrahi.
I offer countless prayers; I remember You each and every instant.
hohu kirpaal deen dukh bhanjan haath day-ay nistaareh. ||1||
Please be merciful to me, O Destroyer of the pains of the poor; please give me Your hand and save me. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I keep turning to You again and again, holding You in mind moment by moment.

Be gentle with me, You who lift the weight off those who feel small — reach out Your hand and carry me through.

Turning toward the One, again and again, is itself the hand reaching back.
The deeper layer

Deen dukh bhanjan is the one who breaks the sorrow of the deen — the humble, the ones with little. The prayer asks for a hand to hold: haath day-ay, give me Your hand. Remembering nimakh nimakh, instant by instant, is simran — keeping the One in mind the way you keep someone you love in your thoughts.

A Question to Sit With

Who do you turn to, again and again, when something feels too heavy to carry alone?
