Save me, save me, Lord; I am Your humble servant, a mere worm. I seek the Protection of Your Sanctuary, O Primal Lord, Cherisher and Nourisher.

Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of the Saint's Darshan, that I may find peace. O God, please fulfill the desires of Your humble servant. ||3||

In plain words

Keep me, hold me — I come to You small and empty-handed, and I trust Your shelter completely, for You are the One who cares for all.

Let me sit in the presence of those who love You; there my heart finds peace. Fill the longing You placed in me.

You don't have to arrive full — open hands are enough to be received.
The deeper layer

This is a prayer of trust. We come to the One with nothing, and we are welcomed.

Har raakh raakh — keep me, keep me. The poet calls himself as small as a little worm, to show how humble he feels. Then: sarnaagat purakh partipalghaa — I have come to Your shelter, You who care for all. Saran means shelter. Partipal means the One who feeds and looks after everyone, all the time.

Think of a small child running to a parent after a bad dream. The child brings nothing. Just coming close is enough. The verse also asks for darsan, the sight of those who love the One, because being near them brings peace. It ends: fill the longing of Your servant.

A Question to Sit With

Is it easier for you to ask for help, or to carry everything alone?
