In plain words

When life is good and happy, that is a wonderful time to hold the One in your heart. And when life is hard and hurting — that is the time to hold the One too.

Remembering in both, the sunny days and the stormy ones, is exactly how a heart grows close to its Source. Not only when things go well; all the time.

Hold the One close in the happy days and the hard days alike.
The deeper layer

jaan sukh taa saho raavi-o, dukh bhee sammaali-o-i = remember the Beloved in pleasure and in pain alike — steadiness through both, a hallmark of sahaj. Guru Angad addresses the wise one (si-aanee-ay): remembrance is not a fair-weather practice.

A Question to Sit With

Is it easier for you to remember what matters when things are going well, or when they are hard?
