That soul-bride, who talks sweetly and speaks the Truth, O Siblings of Destiny, becomes pleasing to her Husband Lord.

Pierced by His Love, she abides in Truth, O Siblings of Destiny, deeply imbued with the Lord's Name. ||8||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

A heart that speaks kindly and speaks truly becomes dear to the One it loves.

Touched deeply by that love, as if love went straight to the core, it settles into what is real.

And it stays there, soaked through with the Name, glowing quietly.

Kind, true words make a heart dear to the One it loves.
The deeper layer

ba-ee-ar bolai meethulee... saach kahai pir bhaa-ay — the loving soul who speaks sweet and true becomes pleasing to the Beloved (pir). birhai bayDhee sach vasee... adhik rahee har naa-ay — pierced by love, abiding in truth, imbued with the Name. The bridal imagery is rendered gender-neutrally as the loving heart.

A Question to Sit With

How does it feel to speak both kindly and truly at the same time?
