The One quietly puts everything in its right place.
The One shapes the whole world and, in time, gathers it back again.
The One makes every living creature and then tenderly looks after each one.
And here is the most beautiful part: the One holds the loving close, like wrapping someone up in a warm hug, and watches over them with a glance full of kindness.
Those who love live in a steady joy, because the feeling of being separate and cut-off has melted away.
The twenty-eighth Pauree gathers the Vaar's sense of a caring, all-doing One: aapay... aapay — the One both creates and cares for. Its tenderest line is daas rakhe kanth laa-ay — the One "hugs the loving close in an embrace." This bodily warmth is rare and precious in scripture: not a distant ruler but an embrace. The final line names the fruit — bhaa-o doojaa jaali-on, the "love of duality" (the felt separateness, haumai) burned away — leaving anand, steady bliss. To feel held is to stop feeling separate.
What does a really good hug feel like when you need one? Can you imagine that same held-and-safe feeling being always available to you?
