Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O Beloved, my King, tender Gardener of this whole world-garden, be my Physician.

Reach out and lift up the one who loves You, hold me safe in Your care.

When you feel weak, you can turn toward a loving, healing presence.
The deeper layer

The Rahao names the Beloved as baid (healer) and banvaaree (gardener of the world). Aging and frailty are brought not to despair but to a loving, tending presence. To call the Divine a gardener is to trust that we are cared for the way a gardener cares for a beloved plant.

A Question to Sit With

Who takes care of you when you are unwell, and how does it feel?
