Verse 4 of 4

Even Your Restless Pulls Belong to the One

tarai gun sabh tayray too aapay kartaa jo too karahi so ho-ee.
The three qualities are all Yours, O Lord; You Yourself created them. Whatever You do, comes to pass.
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਖੋਈ ॥੪॥੧੨॥
naanak raam naam nistaaraa sabday ha-umai kho-ee. ||4||12||
O Nanak, through the Lord's Name, one is emancipated; through the Shabad, he is rid of egotism. ||4||12||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Even these three restless pulls are Yours — You made them all, and whatever You do simply unfolds.

Through the Name I'm set free, and in the song the grasping self quietly dissolves.

Even your restless pulls belong to the One — nothing is truly outside it.
The deeper layer

A beautiful close that says all is one: tarai gun sabh tayray — even the restless pulls belong to the One. Nothing is outside it, so nothing is truly the enemy — even the hard forces are part of the whole. Nistaaraa, liberation, comes through the Name; the ego dissolves in the shabad. This closes the Mehl 3 run before the shift to Guru Ram Das.

A Question to Sit With

How does it change things to remember that even hard feelings are part of the whole, not enemies?
