Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The Keeper of the whole garden of life is moving inside every single heart.
In water, on land, in the sky — everywhere, hidden yet present. Through the deep song of the teaching, you get to see it.
In this world, in the depths, in the wide-open skies — the true teacher showed me the One and poured mercy over me. That unborn, ever-present One — look, it lives right inside your own heart.
This one says the One who fills the whole sky lives closest of all, inside your own heart.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Ghat ghat rav rahi-aa banvaaree: "the Gardener of all is moving in every heart." Banvaaree means Lord of the forest or garden. It is a warm name for Krishna, used here with respect as one of the One's many names.
The One is gupto vartai, present but hidden, in water, on land and in the sky. Think of the WiFi in your home. You cannot see it, yet it fills every room. The One becomes clear gur sabdee, through the Guru's word, the deep song of the teaching.
The last line brings it home: ghat bheetar daykh muraaree, "look inside your own heart and see Him." Muraaree is another loving name for the One. The One who fills the whole world is nearest of all, right inside you.
Where is a place you'd usually look for something wonderful — that might actually be found within you?
