Merciful, merciful is the Master; my Master is merciful.
It gives its gifts to every living being. So why do you waver, mortal? The Maker itself will protect you — the One who created you will also feed you.
This is the "pause" line, the center of the shabad, joined here with the first verse. It says: the One who made you will take care of you.
Miharvaan saahib miharvaan — merciful, the Master is merciful. The words repeat like a heartbeat, steady and calm. Jee-a sagal ka-o day-ay daan — the One gives gifts to every living being.
Then comes a gentle question. Too kaahay doleh paraanee-aa — why do you wobble and worry, dear one? It isn't a scolding. It is like a parent's hand on a nervous child's shoulder before a test.
Jin paidaa-is too kee-aa so-ee day-ay aaDhaar — the One who made you will also feed you. The reason is simple and deep. Someone who took such care to make you will not leave you hungry. The Maker is also the Provider.
When you 'waver' with worry, does it help to remember that what made you is also committed to sustaining you?
