Only a Developed Taste Recognizes the Treasure

In plain words

There may be a whole orchard of betel trees in the garden, but a donkey can't tell its worth.

Only someone who can savor a fragrance truly appreciates the flower.

The treasures are all around, but only a heart that has developed a taste for them can recognize their worth — so cultivate that palate.
The deeper layer

This one uses a funny picture. A donkey wanders into a garden full of betel trees, which were very precious. The donkey has no idea what they are worth.

Khar saar na jaanai — the donkey doesn't know the value. Rasee-aa hovai musak kaa tab fool pachhaanai — only someone who loves fragrance truly knows the flower.

The lesson is about learning to appreciate. The One's treasures are all around us. But only a heart that has grown a taste for them can see their worth. Think of a grandparent who can taste the difference fresh spices make in a curry. Most of us just eat it.

The invitation is to become someone who can savor. Then you see the value that others walk right past.

A Question to Sit With

What good things might you be walking past like a donkey in an orchard, for lack of a taste for them?
