The One is the purest of the pure; only doubt could make you think there is another.
Kabir says: mercy flows from the merciful One; it alone knows who truly acts.
The close states the non-dual heart: the One is so pure and so single that "only through doubt could there be another." The sense of a separate second — another power, another self — is itself the doubt (bharam) that the whole shabad works to dissolve. And it ends in humility: "He alone knows who acts" — even our sense of being the doer is handed back to the One. Mercy flows, and the One is the only true actor. The heart searched within (P1) finds, at the end, that there was never any "other" to find.
What 'other' — some rival power or separate self — might dissolve if you truly trusted there is one reality?
