Those Who Really Know Tend to Go Quiet

ਕਾਂਇ ਰੇ ਬਕਬਾਦੁ ਲਾਇਓ ॥
kaaN-ay ray bakbaad laa-i-o.
Why do you speak such nonsense?
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਓ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਛਪਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

One who has found the Lord, keeps quiet about it. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

So why go on talking such nonsense?

The one who's actually found the One doesn't make a big noise about it — they go quiet.

The ones who really know tend to go quiet — it's often the ones still arguing who haven't tasted it.
The deeper layer

The refrain (the rahaao, the shabad's hinge) delivers the punchline: the person who has really found the One "keeps quiet about it." This is a deep and slightly mischievous truth. The loudest debaters about the divine — near or far, this doctrine or that — are often the ones who haven't tasted it; genuine realization tends to make a person humble and quiet, not argumentative. When you actually know something in your bones, you don't need to win the argument. Naam Dayv gently sorts the noisy from the knowing.

A Question to Sit With

Have you noticed that people who truly understand something rarely need to show off about it? Why is that?
