Come, dear friends, let's gather together and keep the good and true close to our hearts.
When we miss someone, we can remember them with love and turn our hearts toward what lasts.
Everything unfolds within a gentle, wise plan — a plan bigger than we can see.
Guru Nanak opens this mourning-song with togetherness: "come, O my companions, let us meet together and dwell upon the True Name." Grief is not to be borne alone — we gather, remember with love, and turn our hearts toward what lasts. "He who has created also gathers back; whatever happens is by His Will" is rendered gently as everything unfolding within a wise, larger plan. For a child: when we're sad or missing someone, we gather together, remember them with love, and lean on what lasts.
Who do you like to be near when you're feeling sad?
