I look up to the people who love and praise what is truest.
Near them, the heart gets washed clean, like bathing in a clear, pure pool.
A heart that keeps the good close, day and night, rests peacefully in what's true.
The shabad closes in humble admiration: "I fall at the feet of those who praise the Truest of the True." Near genuinely good people, "all filth is washed off... bathing in the Pool of Truth, one becomes truthful, with intuitive ease." Good company is a clean pool you bathe in — the raag's steady teaching that the company you keep shapes you. The colophon (||4||4||) closes the Mehl 3 block. For a child: being near genuinely good people washes your heart clean, like bathing in a clear, pure pool.
Who is like a 'clear pool' whose company leaves you feeling clean and refreshed?
