Salok Mehlaa 9, Salok 12 — the One lives in every heart
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਬਸੈ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਹਿਓ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥
ghat ghat mai har joo basai santan kahi-o pukaar.
The Dear Lord abides in each and every heart; the Saints proclaim this as true.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਹ ਭਜੁ ਮਨਾ ਭਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੧੨॥
kaho naanak tih bhaj manaa bha-o niDh utreh paar. ||12||
Says Nanak, meditate and vibrate upon Him, and you shall cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||12||

The Dear One lives in every single heart; the saints call this out loud.
Nanak says: remember that One, O mind, and you will cross the frightening ocean of the world.
The One lives in every heart; remembering carries you across.
The One lives in every heart, and remembering that One carries a person across the frightening world-ocean.
Ghat ghat mai har joo basai: the Dear One lives in each and every heart. Santan kahi-o pukaar: the saints say it out loud. Bha-o niDh utreh paar: you cross the ocean of fear. Because the One lives in every heart, there is no one in whom the One is missing.
