Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
True love, once formed, does not break — especially when the True Guru is met.
You receive the wealth of wisdom, and understanding opens across all three worlds.
Become a customer of excellence — and never forget the pure, immaculate Name.
Sachaa nayhu na tut-ee — true love (sachaa nayhu) does not break. The sachaa (true, genuine, real) love is the pakkaa love — the permanently dyed love, the love that does not wash off under any circumstance. World loves are real but they can break: loss, change, death interrupts them. The love formed through the True Guru does not break because it is not held together by circumstances.
Giaan padaarath paa-ee-ai, tribhavan sojhee ho-ay — the wealth of wisdom is obtained; understanding of the three worlds comes. The three worlds (tribhavan): earth, the heavens, and the underworld — or past, present, and future. The wisdom obtained through the True Guru is not partial or local; it opens into a comprehensive understanding. You do not merely understand this world more clearly — you understand the structure of all existence.
Gun kaa gaahak ho-ay — "become a customer of virtue/excellence." The merchant metaphor returns: a gaahak is a buyer, a customer who recognizes quality and goes where the best goods are. If you are genuinely in the market for virtue, for the Name, for what is most excellent and real — you will naturally not forget the Name. You are shopping for it. You are its customer. The Name is what you came to buy.
What is a love in your life that has proven unbreakable — and what has that love taught you about the nature of what is real?
