In the state of intuitive balance, death is destroyed — entering the Sanctuary of the True One.
In intuitive balance, the Name of the Lord dwells within the mind — living the lifestyle of Truth.
Those who have found Him are very fortunate. They remain intuitively absorbed in Him.
Sahjai jam ka-i dand na laagai, sachay sharan paa-ay — in sahj, the Messenger of Death's club (jam ka-i dand) does not strike; one enters the Sanctuary of the True One (sachay sharan). The connecting of sahj to the death-teaching of the ashtapadees: where Shabad 118 Pauri 0 described the ego being struck by the Messenger's club, sahj is the state in which the club cannot land. The sahj soul has dissolved the ego that the club would strike, has entered the sanctuary that the Messenger cannot enter.
Sahjai naam man vasai, sachee kaar kamaa-ay — in sahj, the Naam dwells (vasai) within the mind; the lifestyle of Truth (sachee kaar — true activity, truthful occupation) is practiced. Sahj is not just an interior state — it produces an exterior way of living: the sachee kaar, the truthful action. The soul in sahj naturally acts truthfully, not through effort or discipline but through the alignment that sahj produces.
Bhaagtee vaale so paa-ay, sahjai sahj samaa-ay — those who have found Him are very fortunate (bhaagtee vaale — those with good fortune, those blessed); they remain absorbed in sahj within sahj (sahjai sahj samaa-ay — absorbed in sahj within the state of sahj). The doubled sahj: the state deepens into itself. The fortunate one who found the Guru and through the Guru found sahj now lives within sahj that contains sahj — the absorption that holds the absorption.
What would it look like to live your life as if the deepest ground beneath you was completely secure — and how would your daily choices be different?
