Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
In the minds of the devotees there is bliss. They are attuned to the Love of the True Word of the Shabad.
Night and day, they constantly sing the Glories of the Immaculate Lord.
With intuitive ease, they are absorbed into the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
This one says that people who love the One have a deep joy inside, all day and all night.
Bhagtaa man anand hai: "In the minds of the devotees there is bliss." Anand means deep, pure joy. It's different from the quick happy feeling of getting what you want. It doesn't depend on how the day is going.
Sachai sabad rang raatay: "they are dyed in the color of the True Word." Like cloth dipped in dye, their whole self takes on the Shabad's color.
An-din gun gaavahi: "night and day they sing the One's goodness." Day and night is how we measure time. For them, that same rhythm becomes a song of praise.
Sehjay naam samaatay: "with easy balance, they are soaked in the Name." Sahaj, the word from the shabad just before, means natural, easy calm.
Think of someone who loves music humming all day without noticing. It doesn't tire them out. It just comes out of them. That is how praise feels in sahaj: natural, not a chore.
What is the one practice — if you did it every single day — that you believe would most change the quality of your inner life? What holds you back from doing it daily?
