The Gurmukhs speak the Ambrosial Bani — the life-giving Word. They recognize the Lord, the Supreme Soul, in everyone.
They serve the One. They worship the One alone.
The Gurmukhs speak the Unspoken Speech.
This one says the Gurmukhs speak words that give life, and they see the One in everyone.
Gurmukh amrit banee boleh: "The Gurmukhs speak the nectar Word." Amrit is sweet, life-giving nectar. Banee is the Guru's Word. What they say helps and heals.
Sabh aatam raam pachhaanee: "they recognize the One Soul in all." Aatam raam means the One living inside every being. So they see the One in their teacher, their neighbor, even the kid who annoys them.
Ayko sayvan ayk araaDheh: "they serve the One, they worship the One." "One" comes twice. Only the One, nothing else. Their service and their love point in one direction.
Gurmukh akath kahaanee: "the Gurmukhs tell the story that can't be told." Akath means beyond words.
Here's the surprise. They speak, and yet what they speak about is bigger than any words. Think of trying to describe a sunset to a friend on the phone. Your words help, but the real thing is far more. The Gurmukh's words are like a window the One shines through.
Have you ever heard something — a word, a song, a teaching — that seemed to carry more than what the words themselves said? What was that like?
