In plain words

This world has been deluded by doubt.

You Yourself, Lord, have led it astray.

The discarded soul-brides suffer in terrible agony — they have no luck at all.

The world has been led into delusion — and the soul-brides who have not found their Husband Lord suffer in terrible agony without fortune.
The deeper layer

The soul-bride section opens. Where Pauris 0–5 established the Lord's cosmic presence and the Guru's necessity, Pauris 6–9 develop the soul-bride metaphor — the souls that are accepted by their Husband Lord and those that are discarded.

Jag-u bhulay bhram-aa-i-aa, Aap-ay tohai — the world (jag-u) has strayed (bhulay) and wandered in delusion (bhram-aa-i-aa); You Yourself (Aap-ay) have led it astray (tohai — caused it to err). This is a theologically bold statement: You led the world into delusion. Not as cruelty but as part of the divine play established in Pauri2 (You cast the dice). The delusion is not an accident or a failure — it is part of the composition.

Dhan bahur-i dukh paa-ay, bhaag-heen nisohaag-ee — the soul-bride (dhan — here meaning the woman, the soul) suffers again in pain (bahur-i dukh paa-ay); she is without fortune (bhaag-heen), without a husband (nisohaag-ee — the rejected, the one whose husband has not come). In the Indian tradition, the widowed or rejected bride is the figure of most complete abandonment. The soul that has not found its Husband Lord — the divine — is in that most abandoned condition.

A Question to Sit With

What is the experience of feeling abandoned — spiritually or otherwise — and what does it feel like to look for something that doesn't seem to come?
