O Nanak, your demerits shall be forgotten; the Guru shall preserve your honor. ||4||15||

In plain words

When the mind is content with truth, the Lord's kind glance rests on it.

The body made of five elements is filled with loving awe of the True One. The mind is filled with the True Light.

O Nanak, your faults are forgotten. The Guru keeps your honor safe.

The contented mind — settled, without grasping — becomes transparent to grace.
The deeper layer

The last verse ties the shabad together. A content mind, full of loving awe, is blessed by the One's kind glance.

Ih man saach santokhi-aa means this mind is content with truth. Santokh means being settled and satisfied. Bhai means loving awe of the True One, like the respect you feel looking at a huge night sky. Put those two together, and the One's kind glance, nadar, can rest on you. It is not ritual that makes us clean. It is this settled, respectful heart.

Think of a pond. When it stops splashing, you can see the sky in it.

Jot sachee man maahi means the True Light fills the mind. Naanak a-ugan veesray gur raakhay pat taahi means O Nanak, your faults are forgotten, and the Guru keeps your honor safe. The mistakes are let go, and you are held up with respect.

A Question to Sit With

What would your life look like if you were genuinely content with what you have right now — while still working toward what matters to you?
