Those who genuinely understand — who have turned toward the truth — recognize them. Applaud them.
They meet and merge with the True One. They become radiant with the excellence of truth.
O Nanak, they are content with the Name. They offer their bodies and souls to God.
This one says: when you see people who really understand, notice them and cheer them on.
Gurmukh jinee jaani-aa tin keechai saabaas: "Those Gurmukhs who have understood, say 'well done!' to them." Saabaas is like "bravo."
They aren't a special club above everyone else. They are proof that it can be done. Seeing them tells us the path really leads somewhere.
So the verse asks us to notice them, honor them and learn from them. Think of a great coach or a kind older cousin. Being near them makes you better without a lecture.
Meeting truth brings more truth. The shine of good people spreads to those around them. That is why being together with good people, sangat, matters so much.
Naanak naam santokhee-aa: "O Nanak, they are content with the Name." Santokh means being content, feeling "I have enough." And they give their body and soul to the One.
Is there someone you know who seems to have found a kind of peace or wisdom you'd like to have? What's one thing you could learn from how they live?
