In plain words

The One who formed this universe created the three worlds.

The one who turns toward the teaching knows the Light. The one who turns only toward themselves gropes in the dark.

Whoever sees that Light in each and every heart knows the heart of what the Guru teaches.

The divine light is already everywhere — the question is only whether you're turned toward it or away from it.
The deeper layer

This one says the One made everything and put a light inside every heart. The question is whether we turn toward it.

The Creator shaped "the three worlds," a way of saying everything there is.

Gurmukh chaanan jaanee-ai manmukh mugaDh gubaar: "The Gurmukh knows the light; the foolish manmukh gropes in the dark." A Gurmukh faces the Guru. A manmukh faces only their own wants.

Ghat ghat jot nirantree: "the light is in each and every heart, all the way through." Jot means light.

Picture a room with the lamp already on. One person turns to face it and can see. Another keeps their back to it and bumps into things. The lamp was on for both.

So the question isn't where the light is. It is already everywhere, in you and in everyone you meet. The question is which way you are facing. Seeing that light in every heart is the heart of the Guru's teaching.

A Question to Sit With

When have you had a moment of genuine clarity — where things suddenly made sense, or you felt part of something larger? What triggered it?
