In plain words

Those who don't have the assets of truth — how can they find peace? They deal in falsehood, and their minds and bodies become false.

Like the deer caught in a trap, they suffer in terrible agony. They cry out.

The false deal feels profitable in the moment. The trap springs at the end.

The false deal feels like a gain — until the trap springs.
The deeper layer

The deer-trap image is viscerally specific: a deer lured by bait or blocked by the trap, then caught. The suffering is not the natural consequence of being a deer — it is the consequence of being deceived. The person trading in falsehood is deceived the same way.

Peerhaa (agony) — real, physical agony. The metaphor is not gentle. Falsehood produces genuine suffering, not just abstract misfortune.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever taken a shortcut that cost you more than the long way would have? What happened?
