You Are Present Everywhere

You are present everywhere. I had thought that You were far away.

Whatever I do, I do in Your Presence.

I have not worked for You, or Your Name. ||2||

In plain words

You are present everywhere. I had thought that you were far away.

Whatever I do, I do in your presence. You see all my actions — and yet I deny them.

I have not worked for you, or your Name. But you were always here. The distance was mine.

The distance was always mine — the source was never far, only the conclusion was.
The deeper layer

This pauri names the fundamental mistake with precision: door samaajheeyaa — I had concluded you were far away. The distance was a conclusion, not a fact. And in the space of that wrong conclusion, the speaker has lived and acted without acknowledging the presence.

"You see all my actions, and yet I deny them" — the denial of actions in the presence of the all-seeing is not just dishonest, it is absurd. And the absurdity is gently pointed out.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever realized, looking back, that help or love was available all along — and you hadn't seen it? What made you finally see it?
