Those who hear and believe in the Word of the Guru's Shabad, meditate on the Lord in their minds.

Those who have the Radiant Light of the Naam within, become steady and stable, forever and ever. ||3||

In plain words

Those who hear and believe in the Word of the teaching meditate on the Lord in their minds.

Night and day, they are steeped in devotion. Their minds and bodies become pure.

The color of the world — the dye of Maya, of appearances — is false and weak. When it washes away, people cry out in pain. But those who carry the true color have nothing to fear from the washing.

The world's color is beautiful but fades — be careful what you let color you permanently.
The deeper layer

The dye metaphor (rang laaee) — colors that are fast (permanent) versus fugitive (washing away) — is used throughout Gurbani. The world's dye is jhootha and kawaa — false and weak. It looks good initially but fades.

When the world's color washes away — when circumstances change, when what was thought to be permanent proves temporary — those who were colored only by the world are left naked. But those dyed in the divine color have a permanent color that no washing removes.

A Question to Sit With

What has 'colored' you most deeply in your life — something that has permanently changed how you see things? Is it still serving you?
