In plain words

Practicing egotism, selfishness, and conceit, she wanders around the world. But her wealth and property will not go with her.

The spiritually blind do not even think of the Name. They are all bound and gagged by the Messenger of Death.

Meeting the True Teacher, the wealth is obtained — but it is the wealth that travels with you.

Only the wealth of the Name travels with you — everything else is left at the border.
The deeper layer

The contrast between accumulation that cannot travel (dhan maal) and the wealth of the Name (Naam dhan) that does — this is the merchant metaphor in the soul-bride register. The bride who accumulates property for herself is preparing for a journey she cannot take any of it on.

"Bound and gagged by the Messenger of Death" — jam bandhan — the one who doesn't seek the Guru is, in this image, already a captive.

A Question to Sit With

If you could only take three things with you through the end of your life — not physical things, but qualities, relationships, realizations — what would they be?
