In plain words

By His Grace, one becomes Gurmukh — worshipping the Lord with devotion. Without the Guru, there is no devotional worship.

Those whom He unites with Himself, understand and become pure.

The Dear Lord is True. True is the Word of His Bani. Through the Shabad, the Name is obtained.

Grace comes first — it is what produces the Gurmukh, not the other way around.
The deeper layer

The grace-first teaching of Guru Amar Das: prabhoo kirpaa (God's grace) comes first, and then the Gurmukh state follows. You don't achieve Gurmukh status and then receive grace. Grace produces the Gurmukh.

Bani sach — the Word is True. Guru Amar Das was deeply invested in the collection and preservation of Gurbani — he was the one who began the formal compilation that Guru Arjan Dev would complete as the Adi Granth. The truth of the Bani was not just theological — it was institutional.

A Question to Sit With

How do you think about the relationship between what you do and what is given to you? Do you think goodness earns grace, or does grace enable goodness?
