Sikhism·Siree Raag·Shabad 58
Verse 3 of 5

Drink the Ambrosial Nectar Within

The unvirtuous have no merit; they are not allowed to sit in His Presence.
manmukh sabad na jaan-ee avgan so parabh door.
The self-willed manmukhs do not know the Shabad; those without virtue are far removed from God.
jinee sach pachhaani-aa sach ratay bharpoor.
Those who recognize the True One are permeated and attuned to Truth.
gur sabdee man bayDhi-aa parabh mili-aa aap hadoor. ||2||
Their minds are pierced through by the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and God Himself ushers them into His Presence. ||2||

In plain words

Drink the Ambrosial Nectar within — it is there, within you, constantly flowing.

Through the Guru's guidance, the Naam flows like a fountain — never running dry.

You don't need to go somewhere to find the nectar. You need to go within.

The nectar is within — constantly available — and the Guru is the one who shows you where to look.
The deeper layer

Amrit peeoh andar vasiaa — drink the Ambrosia that dwells within. The nectar is not obtained externally — it is recognized internally. The amrit is the experience of the divine presence that is always already present within the antar ghar (inner home).

The Guru's guidance is the instruction that leads to this inner source. Once found, it is inexhaustible: nirbhau Naam sadaa andhree — the Fearless Name always available within.

A Question to Sit With

Where in your body or experience do you feel most connected to something real and true? Not a thought — a felt sense. Where do you feel it?
